The Nutri Store Boswellia carterii extract capsules are a food supplement containing 400 mg Boswellia carterii extract with at least 68 % boswellic acids per capsule.

Frankincense resin has been used for thousands of years in traditional Indian Ayurveda as an incense and also as a foodstuff. Frankincense also plays an important role in Christian tradition: along with myrrh and gold, frankincense was one of the gifts given by the Magi from the Orient to the newborn baby Jesus. In the Catholic Church, incense is still burnt during masses to this day.

Arabic and African frankincense resin is obtained from the frankincense plant Boswellia carterii. The tree, which can grow up to 5 metres tall, grows in dry areas in Somalia, Oman and Yemen. The trunk and branches exude a yellowish-brown resin that runs down as a viscous mass, clumps together and hardens. The tree resin tastes slightly bitter and has a pleasantly spicy, conifer-like fragrance. It is used as an additive in cosmetics, drinks, baked goods and meat dishes, among other things.

Frankincense is an extremely valuable source of secondary plant substances, including bitter substances and triterpenes such as boswellic acids, which can pleasantly enrich the human diet.

Each vegan Boswellia carterii extract capsule contains 400 mg Boswellia carterii extract with at least 68 % boswellic acids, which is a high-quality, standardised dry frankincense extract.

The raw material for the production of the capsule shell is obtained from vegetable cellulose and is gelatine-free. Boswellia carterii extract capsules are a natural product. There may be variations in the colour of the capsules. This does not affect the quality of the product.
