Sorbalgon® Classic calcium alginate compresses sterile, 10 x 20 cm, 5 ST

Sorbalgon® Classic are high-quality calcium alginate dressings from Hartmann for effective wound care. It promotes wound healing and reduces wound infections. Ideal for the treatment of exudative wounds.

Sorbalgon® Classic Alginate is made from natural fibres extracted from seaweed. It offers fast and strong absorbency. Alginate absorbs wound exudate and forms a gel-like layer over the wound, creating a moist wound healing environment that accelerates the healing process and contributes to haemostasis. The gel-like surface also ensures that the dressing does not stick to the wound and can be removed without causing pain.

Application

1. Clean the wound with saline solution and carefully dry the skin around the wound.
2. Select the appropriate size compress based on the wound area. Apply the dressing to the wound bed without overlapping the skin surrounding the wound to prevent maceration.
3. For deep wounds, please use Sorbalgon T Classic.
4. Then apply a non-sealing secondary dressing to cover and secure the alginate dressing.
5. Sorbalgon Classic/Sorbalgon T Classic can remain on the wound for up to seven days. Note: The frequency with which the dressing needs to be changed depends on the condition of the wound and the amount of exudate.

Removal:

1. Carefully remove the secondary dressing.
2. If the wound appears dry, moisten the dressing with saline solution before removal.
3. Carefully remove the dressing from the wound bed and dispose of it.
