1. WHAT IS SKINSEPT® COLOUR AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

This medicine is a solution for disinfecting the skin before operations, injections, punctures,
blood sampling, vaccinations and dressing changes. The water-soluble colouring agent marks the

This mixture of alcohols is characterised by a broad spectrum of activity and a
bacteria (incl. tubercle bacilli), fungi, hepatitis B viruses (HBV), HIV,
Rota and herpes viruses.

2. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE USING SKINSEPT® COLOUR?

Skinsept® Colour must not be used
- if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to ethanol, 2-propanol, benzyl alcohol or any of the other
other ingredients of Skinsept® Color.
Special precautions and warnings for the use of Skinsept® Color
Skinsept® Color is intended for external use only and is not suitable for disinfecting
large, open wounds or for long-term use. Skinsept® Color should also not be applied to
mucous membranes. Do not apply in the immediate vicinity of the eyes,
avoid accidental wetting of the eye; in the event of eye contact, rinse immediately with water for approx.

3. HOW SHOULD SKINSEPT® COLOUR BE USED?

For skin disinfection before operations and before punctures of joints and body cavities:
Apply undiluted solution and leave to act for at least 1 minute.
Before injections, punctures, blood sampling, vaccinations and dressing changes: Apply undiluted solution
and leave on for at least 15 seconds.
Before all procedures on skin rich in sebaceous glands, e.g. scalp, forehead, armpit and breast area:
Apply undiluted solution and leave on for at least 10 minutes.
Keep the skin moisturised until the end of the application time.
Children and adolescents:
The attending physician should decide on the use in children and adolescents.

4. WHAT SIDE EFFECTS ARE POSSIBLE?

Like all medicines, Skinsept® Color can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

5. HOW SHOULD SKINSEPT® COLOUR BE STORED?

The product must be stored in the original container and not above 25°C.
Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.
Do not use the product after the expiry date stated on the label.
The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
