SinoPlaSan Spermidine 1 mg capsules are a food supplement containing wheat germ powder. Spermidine is produced in small quantities by the body and is also found in certain foods.

Spermidine is a natural substance produced by the body that is present in every human cell. This natural substance owes its name to the discovery that it occurs in particularly high concentrations in male seminal fluid. Spermidine is also found in various foods, but can also be produced by our gut. Despite this endogenous production, however, around two-thirds of the spermidine required must still be obtained from food. The body’s ability to produce spermidine naturally declines, particularly with age, and it is therefore all the more important to ensure an adequate intake. 

Even foods containing spermidine, such as mature cheese, soya beans or mushrooms, nowadays usually contain only small amounts of spermidine. It is often difficult to estimate the exact amount in these foods and therefore impossible to ensure a precise intake. Anyone wishing to ensure an adequate and precise intake of spermidine can therefore turn to dietary supplements with a standardised spermidine content.
