ProSTAT, with its selected vitamins and high-quality coenzyme Q10 in the form of the patented brand-name ingredient Kaneka^Q10™, makes an important contribution to maintaining a harmonious balance of micronutrients whilst taking statins and fibrates.

Medicines often utilise the same regulatory pathways or require the same transport mechanisms as micronutrients. Taking certain medicines can therefore affect micronutrient levels and lead to altered requirements for certain micronutrients. When taken over the long term, statins and fibrates affect natural coenzyme Q10 levels as well as the absorption of vitamin D3.

Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) plays a role in cell division, supports normal muscle function and, like folic acid, supports the normal function of the immune system.

Coenzyme Q10 is a natural substance thatis partly obtained from food andis alsoproduced by the bodyitself. It plays a key role in the body’s energy production. The highest concentrations are found in organs such as the heart, liver, lungs, pancreas and kidneys, which have the highest energy requirements.

Vitamin B6 helps regulate hormonal activity and contributes to normal cysteine synthesis; together with B12 and folic acid, it supports normal homocysteine metabolism. Folic acid and vitamin B12 also help to reduce tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin B12 is present in the bioactive form methylcobalamin and is characterised by particularly high bioavailability.
