With selected vitamins and high-quality coenzyme Q10 as the patented branded raw material Kaneka Q10TM, ProSTAT makes an important contribution to a harmonious micronutrient balance when taking statins and fibrates.
Medications often utilise the same control circuit or require the same transport routes as micronutrients. Taking certain medications can therefore influence the micronutrient balance and lead to an altered requirement for certain micronutrients. Statins and fibrates have an influence on the natural coenzyme Q10 balance and the absorption of vitamin D3 when taken over a longer period of time.
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) has a function in cell division, supports normal muscle function and, like folic acid, normal function of the immune system.
Coenzyme Q10 is a natural substance that is partly absorbed through food and is also produced in the body itself. It plays a key role in energy production in the body. The highest concentrations are found in organs such as the heart, liver, lungs, pancreas and kidneys, which have the highest energy requirements.
Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormone activity and normal cysteine synthesis and, together with B12 and folic acid, supports normal homocysteine metabolism. Folic acid and vitamin B12 also contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin B12 is contained in the bioactive form methylcobalamin and is characterised by its particularly high bioavailability.
