Product information "Seewald Ortho Urinary Tract PhytoComplex Capsules"
Seewald Ortho Urinary Tract PhytoComplex capsules are a dietary supplement featuring a potent formula containing plant extracts of goldenrod, cranberry, nasturtium and horseradish root, combined with vitamin A from beta-carotene.
- Cranberry, also known as the mooseberry or craneberry, is a small, tart berry, botanically known as Vaccinium macrocarpon. It belongs to the blueberry family and is closely related to European lingonberries (Vaccinium vitis-ideae). It is native primarily to North America and parts of Europe. Cranberries are known for their high vitamin content, particularly vitamin C. They have traditionally been used to support the health of the urinary tract.
- The cranberry extract contained in this product is highly standardised to 30% proanthocyanidins (PACs). Proanthocyanidins belong to the flavonoid group and, more specifically, to the subgroup of anthocyanins. Other natural phytochemicals found in cranberries include quercetin, tannins, catechin and epicatechin.
- Goldenrods are perennial, herbaceous plants known for their bright yellow inflorescences. They are traditionally used in naturopathy – as early as the late 16th century, the herbalist Jacobus Theodorus Tabernaemontanus described the effects of goldenrod on the urinary system. The plant contains various bioactive substances, including saponins and flavonoids such as rutin, quercetin and kaempferol.
- Nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus) is an annual plant known for its colourful flowers and round leaves. It is native to South America but is cultivated in gardens worldwide. Nasturtium is not only decorative but also edible; both the leaves and flowers have a spicy, pungent flavour due to the mustard oil glycosides they contain. These substances protect the plant from herbivores and help it to ward off microorganisms such as bacteria.
- Horseradish (Armoracia rusticana) has been used in cooking since ancient times due to its sharp, pungent flavour. It is rich in vitamin C and mustard oil glycosides such as allyl isothiocyanate. When eaten freshly grated, it has a stimulating effect on the mucous membranes and their blood circulation – we are all familiar with the sensation of a clear nose after eating fresh horseradish root.
- Beta-carotene is a plant-based carotenoid found in many fruits and vegetables, such as carrots and sweet potatoes. It gives these foods their characteristic orange colour and is also known as provitamin A, as it is converted into vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that performs various functions in the body. It helps maintain normal mucous membranes, including those in the reproductive organs and urinary tract. Furthermore, vitamin A supports the normal function of the immune system and plays a role in cell specialisation.
