Mibio Komplex Forte contains 12 carefully selected bacterial strains of the highest quality, produced in Austria. These strains are produced to the strictest quality standards (certified to ISO 22000) and provide a total bacterial count of 12 billion colony-forming units (CFU).
The human body contains a wide variety of natural bacterial strains that fulfil various functions, such as in digestion or in the vaginal tract. Many of these strains produce lactic acid or acetic acid.
- Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium lactis are bacteria that occur naturally in the gut and produce acetic acid and lactic acid.
- Bifidobacterium infantis and Bifidobacterium longum are among the natural bacteria found in the large intestine. Together with the other bifidobacteria, they are among the first microorganisms to colonise an infant’s digestive tract after birth. Lactic acid bacteria convert carbohydrates into lactic acid.
- Bifidobacterium breve is capable of producing vitamins in the gut. It reaches the gut of newborns via both the vaginal tract and breast milk.
- The Lactobacillus casei strain, like Lactobacillus paracasei, occurs naturally in the gut flora. It can produce specific enzymes, such as lactocepin, which in turn can break down casein and gluten.
- Lactobacillus plantarum was originally discovered in human saliva and is a natural inhabitant of the digestive tract, where Lactobacillus salivarius is also found. It can produce bacteriocins.
- Lactococcus lactis, like Lactobacillus acidophilus, is normally found in the digestive tract and the vagina. However, it is the most commonly found bacterium in the gut of newborns.
- Lactobacillus rhamnosus occurs naturally in both the digestive and urogenital tracts. Unlike other lactic acid bacteria, however, it is not a permanent resident, but only appears temporarily.
