Cistus is probably the most polyphenol-rich plant in Europe and a true all-round talent. The leaves of the shrub exude an aromatic scent. This comes from the resin of the rockrose, ladanum, which is said to have a warming, clarifying and grounding effect. In the Mediterranean region, the herb of the rockrose has always been dried and used for warming teas in the colder months of the year. Cistus symbolises the sun and warmth.
