Acerola, also known as the Antillean cherry or West Indian cherry, is a tropical stone fruit from the Malpighian family. This vitamin C miracle contains around 1,700 mg of vitamin C per 100 g, making it truly exceptional.
As the human body cannot produce vitamin C itself, we have to regularly consume the vitamin with food. It is one of the water-soluble vitamins and can be released from food when chewing. If it remains in the mouth long enough, it is absorbed through the oral mucosa. This property makes vitamin C lozenges particularly interesting and an ingenious supply for the whole family.
