Retaron® Makula Omega 3 capsules contain the omega-3 fatty acid DHA and zinc. These ingredients play an important role in maintaining normal vision, particularly in the face of age-related changes.

Retaron® Makula Omega 3 is a food supplement containing, amongst other things, the mineral zinc and the omega-3 fatty acid DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Zinc and DHA help to maintain normal vision. Furthermore, the product contains the mineral selenium, the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, vitamins C and E, and the essential omega-3 fatty acid EPA. The minerals selenium and zinc, as well as vitamins E and C, help to protect cells against oxidative stress.

As the eyes age, processes occur that result from an increased presence of free radicals. Free radicals are highly reactive compounds that occur frequently, particularly in situations involving stress, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, strong UV radiation, environmental pollution and in cases of an unbalanced diet. What are the properties of the ingredients in Retaron® Makula Omega 3?

• Lutein and zeaxanthin occur naturally as pigments in the retina.
• The minerals zinc and selenium, as well as vitamins C and E, help to protect cells from oxidative stress.
• The essential, long-chain, polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) are also known as components of fish oil .
• Zinc and DHA are specifically formulated to support the eye’s natural defence mechanisms against environmental factors and the effects of ageing. Zinc and DHA help maintain normal vision.

The beneficial effect of DHA in maintaining normal vision is achieved with a dose of 250 mg daily, which is the recommended daily dose of 1 capsule for this product.

Directions for use

• Adults: Take 1 capsule daily, preferably with a meal and a cold drink. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. We do not recommend taking any other dietary supplements containing zinc. Regular and long-term use is recommended.
• Important information: Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet or a healthy lifestyle. For adults only. In very rare cases, gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea and belching, accompanied by a fishy taste in the mouth, may occur.
