Product information "RespoSorb® Silicone superabsorbent absorbent dressing with silicone wound contact layer sterile, 20 x 20 cm"

RespoSorb® Silicone is a sterile, super-absorbent wound dressing with a silicone wound-contact layer for the atraumatic management of acute and chronic wounds. The silicone coating prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound.

RespoSorb® Silicone is a super-absorbent wound dressing with a silicone wound-contact layer designed for atraumatic removal.

RespoSorb® Silicone is a wound dressing for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds with moderate to heavy exudate. RespoSorb® Silicone consists of an absorbent pad made from cellulose and super-absorbent polyacrylate, which can absorb and bind exudate. On the wound side, it is covered with a fine-mesh silicone net, which allows the dressing to be applied easily and prevents it from sticking to the wound. The dressing backing consists of a green, hydrophobic polypropylene non-woven fabric, which is breathable and allows gas exchange.

Indications

RespoSorb® Silicone is suitable for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds with moderate to heavy exudate

  • Acute wounds (traumatic wounds, burns, post-operative wounds) and chronic wounds (ulcers, pressure ulcers, tumour wounds, diabetic foot syndrome).

Directions for use

  • Clean the wound with normal saline solution or as directed by a doctor.
  • Select the absorbent dressing to suit the size of the wound so that it overlaps the wound edges by approx. 1–2 cm. Do not cut the absorbent dressing to size.
  • After rinsing the wound and before applying the absorbent dressing, ensure that the area around the wound is patted dry with swabs so that the absorbent dressing adheres.
  • Remove the protective films. Position the absorbent dressing with the adhesive side on the wound, so that the green side is facing away from the wound.
  • Secure the absorbent dressing, for example, with a Peha-haft fixation bandage or another suitable product, or, if necessary and in accordance with medical instructions, apply compression bandages.
  • Depending on the condition of the wound and the applicable clinical protocol, the absorbent dressing may remain on the wound for up to 5 days. A dressing change is necessary when clinically indicated or when exudate reaches the edge of the absorbent dressing.
