Raab OPC Extract capsules contain a standardised amount of oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC, 150 mg in 3 capsules) derived from grape seeds. The OPC is supplemented with vitamin C from the acerola cherry. Ripe grapes and careful extraction ensure the highest quality OPC. Vitamin C helps protect cells from oxidative stress and contributes to the normal functioning of the immune and nervous systems.
OPC – Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins
OPC is the abbreviation for oligomeric proanthocyanidins, which belong to the group of secondary plant compounds – more specifically, to the so-called polyphenols. Secondary plant compounds form part of our daily diet, as they are found in many plants we consume regularly, such as fruit, vegetables, pulses, nuts and seeds, wholemeal products, and are particularly abundant in French grape seeds.
Due to their varying structures and properties, they are classified into different groups, such as polyphenols, glucosinolates, saponins and lectins. The polyphenol OPC is found not only in the seeds and skins of grapes, but also in blueberries and cranberries.
