Raab Algae Oil Omega-3 Capsules contain algae oil from the unicellular microalgae Schizochytrium sp. The algae oil is obtained by fermentation of the microalgae under controlled conditions in a closed system. Algae oil is purely plant-based. DHA and EPA contribute to normal heart function. DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and to the maintenance of normal brain function.

What are omega-3 fatty acids?

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that the body cannot produce itself. They belong to the group of polyunsaturated fatty acids and must be obtained from food. Omega-3 fatty acids are components of every single cell in our body. The main representatives of omega-3 fatty acids are ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), whereby ALA is mainly found in plant-based foods such as linseed, chia seeds or nuts and DHA and EPA exclusively in oily fish and algae.
