Product information "RÖSCH & HANDEL Glycerin suppositories 3 g"
RÖSCH & HANDEL Glycerine Suppositories are a medical device designed to promote natural bowel regulation and ease bowel movements; they have a gentle laxative effect and are gentle on the gut flora.
Suitable for use, for example, in cases of haemorrhoids, during prolonged bed rest, for children suffering from constipation, or following surgery when straining during bowel movements needs to be avoided.
Features
- Easy regulation of bowel movements
- Mild yet effective
- No habituation effect
How glycerine suppositories work
- Glycerine suppositories work by physically attracting water and thus stimulate the rectal mucosa to release water, which makes the thickened stool easier to pass.
Dosage form
Suppositories
Directions for use
- The suppository is gently inserted into the anus. Unless otherwise prescribed, it is best to insert it in the morning shortly before getting up. After inserting the suppository, you should delay passing stools for a short while to allow the hardened stool to soften sufficiently.
- The effect sets in after approx. 15–60 minutes.
- Rösch glycerine suppositories are used, for example, for haemorrhoids, during prolonged bed rest, for children with constipation, or following surgery when straining during bowel movements should be avoided.
Dosage:
- Infants and young children (28 days to 23 months): 1 suppository (1 g)
- Children aged 2 years and over, adolescents and adults: 1 suppository (2 g)
- Adults (aged 18 and over) in persistent cases: 1 3g suppository
Notes: Particular attention should be paid to the dosage (1g suppository) in infants and young children, and in the event of persistent bowel dysfunction, determining the cause should always be the priority. No restrictions on use have been reported to date. However, it is by no means advisable to use this treatment regularly over a prolonged period without having the causes of constipation assessed by a doctor. In cases of chronic constipation, efforts should also be made to regulate bowel function naturally through a high-fibre diet (fruit, vegetables) and adequate fluid intake.
