Directions for use
- Use in dairy cows with a negative energy balance in the period before and after calving, 3 to 6 weeks.
- Dairy cows: Use 1 cartridge per cow per day. In case of severe weight loss 2 cartridges daily. Follow-up treatment for acute ketosis: Use 2 cartridges daily for 3-4 days.
- Ewes: Use ½ cartridge, twice daily, for 3-4 days. To be used in the last 6 weeks before and the first 3 weeks after lambing.
- Notes: During the administration of calcium or sodium propionates at the end of gestation, an assessment of the mineral balance associated with the risk of postpartum hypocalcaemia should be made and it is recommended that veterinary advice is sought before use.
- Administration instructions: Only administer to cows with a clear swallowing reflex. Care must be taken to ensure that the throat is not injured during administration. Cut off the cap of the cartridge with a knife and insert the cartridge into the dosing pistol. Screw on the dosing extension and insert it into the side of the mouth along the tongue. Empty the contents so that the animal can swallow it. After emptying the cartridge, carefully pull it out of the throat.
