Yuzu lemon essential oil (bot. Citrus junos) is a multi-faceted fragrance rarity. It smells wonderfully fruity, fresh, tangy, tart with a delicate bitter note and immediately puts a smile on your face. The essential oil has a mood-lifting, uplifting and light-hearted effect. It has a revitalising and activating effect on the skin. As an ingredient in a body oil, it stimulates the skin's metabolism in circulation-enhancing massages
Yuzu lemons are harvested between October and December; the green and yellow yuzu are used. The fruits are round, with thick, rather uneven skin and contain many seeds. The essential oil is extracted from the yuzu peel by cold pressing. As an exceptional essential oil, it enriches the PRIMAVERA citrus oil range with another fragrance speciality. We obtain the essential oil from Japan. The fruits come from small, mixed-culture orchards around Mount Seppiko in the Hyogo region. The yuzu trees characterise the landscape there and would soon produce more leaves and less fruit if left to grow wild. By sourcing the valuable yuzu oil from there, we are therefore supporting landscape conservation and the preservation of the cultural landscape
In Japan, the fruit is traditionally used for invigorating health and beauty rituals. It is considered a "happiness booster" there. There, bathing rituals with the fruit in warm water are performed in public baths (onsen) or at home at the turn of the year.
