Thyme is a perennial herb that is native to the Mediterranean region. Depending on the climate and soil conditions, thyme develops different constituents and therefore different scent and effect profiles. These varieties are called chemotypes. Thyme thymol is a strong type of thyme; in naturopathy, thyme is used to treat colds, muscle and joint complaints as well as to aid digestion and in oral care.
