Osmanthus, also known as the fragrant flower, is an evergreen shrub with yellow flowers that is native to China. Osmanthus thrives as a shrub, but can grow up to 12 metres high as a tree. Like jasmine, the flowers are used to flavour tea or as a spice; in Hang Zhou, China, the Osmanthus Festival is celebrated every year in September. Osmanthus is a valuable raw material for perfumery.
