Mimosa, also known as silver acacia, is an evergreen tree with feathery, blue-green, silvery leaves and sun-yellow flower heads that thrives in warm climates such as the Mediterranean. The mimosa grows up to 12 metres high; mimosa wood is used to make furniture, the flowers and branch tips are popular cut flowers in winter; mimosa absolute is a valued raw material in perfumery.
