Stevia, also known as the sweet herb, is a peppermint-like plant from the border region between Paraguay and Brazil. Stevia rebaudiana has been used as a sweetener and medicine by the indigenous population of Brazil and Paraguay for centuries. The Guaraní Indians call it ka'a he'ê (sweet herb) and use it to sweeten their mate tea. We currently source the raw material exclusively from a cooperative in Paraguay. Its ingredients are mainly used in Asia as a sugar substitute, often referred to as stevioside.

- Stevia consists mainly of the diterpene glycoside stevioside. Steviosides have about 300 times the sweetening power of sugar.
- Stevia is used in the EU as a raw material for the production of dental and skin cosmetics as well as for hair tonics and tinctures.
