Pollstimol® capsules, 60 ST

Pollstimol® capsules are a herbal medicinal product for the symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), e.g. frequent urination and nocturia.

Indications

• Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), e.g. frequent urination and nocturia
• Chronic non-bacterial prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS).

Pollstimol is indicated for adult men aged 18 years and over. If you do not feel any better or if your condition worsens, consult your doctor.

Directions for use

The recommended dose for adult men aged 18 years and over is:

• For benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH): The recommended dose is: 2 hard capsules 2 to 3 times a day This amounts to 4 to 6 hard capsules per day.
• For chronic non-bacterial prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS): The recommended dose is: 2 hard capsules 3 times a day This amounts to 6 capsules per day.
• Renal and hepatic impairment: There are insufficient data to provide specific dosage recommendations for patients with impaired renal or hepatic function.

Use in children and adolescents: There is no corresponding indication for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Method of administration: Please swallow the capsules whole with sufficient water (preferably 1 glass of drinking water) with meals.

Duration of treatment: There is no time limit on the duration of treatment, which should be at least 3 months. If your symptoms persist whilst taking this medicine, you should consult a doctor.

Ingredients

• Pollstimol contains - The active ingredients are grass pollen extracts from rye, timothy grass and maize. 1 hard capsule contains: 20 mg dry extract from dried, unprocessed pollen of Secale cereale L. (rye), Phleum pratense L. (meadow grass) and Zea mays L. (maize) in a ratio of 30 : 1.5 : 1, DERnativ (2.7–7.5) : 1. Extraction solvent: water : acetone : sodium dodecyl sulphate (27 : 1 : 0.01 w/w/w). 3 mg of thick extract from dried, unprocessed pollen of Secale cereale L. (rye), Phleum pratense L. (timothy grass) and Zea mays L. (maize) in the ratio: 30 : 1.5 : 1, DERnativ (12–28) : 1. First extraction solvent: water : acetone : sodium dodecyl sulphate (27 : 1 : 0.01 w/w/w). Second extraction solvent: acetone (100 %).
• The other ingredients are: Capsule contents: calcium gluconate (Ph.Eur.), calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.), maltodextrin, microcrystalline cellulose. Capsule shell: gelatine, purified water, hydrated iron oxide (E 172), titanium dioxide (E 171).
