Optimally supplied during pregnancy
There are important months between the time of fertilisation and the moment you hold your newborn baby in your arms. Your body does a lot during this demanding time, which is why it needs to be supplied with all the important micronutrients. A balanced micronutrient balance is not only the basis for your health and well-being, but also supports a positive course of pregnancy and the development of your baby.
Micronutrient supply during breastfeeding
Your micronutrient requirements continue to increase during breastfeeding. This is because, in addition to your own supply, you pass on many nutrients to your baby through breast milk that are needed for healthy development. In addition, pregnancy and childbirth have demanded a lot from your body - so actively support your regeneration and well-being.
Orthomol Natal with the mother-child plus
Orthomol Natal combines essential micronutrients with the Mother-Child-Plus (omega-3 fatty acid DHA, vitamin D3, lactic acid bacteria cultures) and provides important nutrients for the development of your child, your well-being and for a positive course of pregnancy from the start of pregnancy. With a combination of folic acid and Quatrefolic® to contribute to normal maternal tissue growth during pregnancy. Quatrefolic® is an active form of folic acid that is available to the body without prior conversion and therefore has a higher bioavailability.
1Importantmicronutrients during pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Folic acid contributes to normal maternal tissue growth during pregnancy. Supplemental intake of folic acid increases folate levels in pregnant women. A low folate level in pregnant women is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the growing foetus. The positive effect is achieved with a supplementary intake of 400 μg folic acid daily over a period of at least one month before and up to three months after conception (target group: women of childbearing age).
- Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin.
- The intake of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) by the mother contributes to the normal development of the brain and eyes in the foetus and breastfed infant. The positive effect is achieved with a daily intake of 200 mg DHA, in addition to the recommended daily dose of omega-3 fatty acids of 250 mg DHA and EPA.
- Choline contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism.
- Calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, vitamin D, vitamin B12 and folic acid have a function in cell division.
- Vitamin C, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin D, folic acid, iron, zinc, selenium and copper contribute to the normal function of the immune system.
- Calcium is needed to maintain normal bones.
- Vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin D as well as zinc and magnesium contribute to the maintenance of normal bones.
- Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium.
- Iodine and selenium contribute to normal thyroid function. Calcium and magnesium contribute to normal muscle function.
- Vitamin C, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, folic acid, niacin, pantothenic acid and magnesium contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
- With lactic acid bacteria cultures, lutein and zeaxanthin.
