Opraclean® gauze bandage for tamponade with iodoform is a medical device used for haemostasis and wound cleansing. It contains iodoform as an antiseptic active ingredient. 

Opraclean dressings aid wound cleansing by absorbing wound exudates and cellular debris. Wound pockets and cavities can be packed with Opraclean. Furthermore, the dressings, which are impregnated with iodoform, have an antiseptic effect*. In a moist environment, iodoform decomposes and continuously releases small amounts of iodine from the dressing. A further advantage: no known development of resistance**. * Antiseptic effect confirmed for Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Candida albicans and Aspergillus brasiliensis based on in vitro studies ** Based on the literature on iodine 

Opraclean dressings (gauze bandage for tamponade with iodoform, gauze dressing with iodoform) are used for antiseptic tamponade and drainage following surgical debridement.

Indications

Opraclean dressings (gauze bandage for tamponade with iodoform, gauze pad with iodoform) are used following surgical debridement of: 

• abscesses 
• Fistula-associated abscesses 
• Ulcers 
• Wound cavities and body cavities
