ORBAT sensitive aluminium sulphate solution, 20 ML

The ORBAT sensitive aluminium sulphate solution is a medical device. It provides local haemostasis through its astringent effect, as used in dentistry, and is therefore also suitable for use on mucous membranes.

ORBAT Sensitive is a specialised solution for gingival retraction and tissue management in dentistry. This 25% aluminium sulphate solution is designed to stop gingival bleeding and control exudation, which is essential for precise impressions and successful restorations. To use ORBAT Sensitive, soak a non-impregnated retraction cord in the solution and then insert it into the sulcus. ORBAT Sensitive is supplied in a handy 20 ml PE dropper bottle, ideal for professional dental use.

Method of use:

• Gum retraction: To retract the gums prior to taking an impression, soak an unimpregnated retraction cord (or ring) with ORBAT sensitive. After approx. 1–3 minutes (or longer), remove the cord and, if necessary, rinse gently.
• Gum management for direct and indirect restorations: To retract the gums and stop exudation, place a retraction cord (or ring) soaked in ORBAT sensitive into the sulcus, or apply ORBAT sensitive directly using a suitable applicator whilst applying light pressure. Before cementing or adhesively bonding the restoration, ensure that bleeding and exudation have stopped and that excess aluminium sulphate has been thoroughly removed with a generous spray of water.
• Exudation and gingival bleeding: Dab away any exudate or blood and apply ORBAT sensitive using a cotton pellet soaked in the solution or another suitable applicator, applying gentle pressure. Further 

Notes: Aluminium sulphate has a good astringent effect. It stops local bleeding by causing the upper layer of the gums to contract. ORBAT sensitive can also be applied directly from the dropper bottle onto the applicator or suitable retraction cords . However, it is better to dispense a few drops from the bottle into a dropper dish or similar container, so that the cut-to-size threads can be thoroughly soaked, or to draw the solution with the applicator from there.
