Who is OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Hi-Balance designed for?

More and more people are sensitive to histamine-rich foods. Yet histamine is not harmful in itself – on the contrary: it is an important messenger substance in our immune system. Histamine is produced by specialised cells throughout the body and released when needed. It directs the body’s own defences by attracting immune cells to the site of the problem, dilating blood vessels to speed up their transport there, or stimulating the production of stomach acid, which neutralises pathogens and unwanted substances.

Problems arise when the body absorbs or releases more histamine than it can break down. This happens, for example, when the diet contains a particularly large amount of histamine-rich or histamine-releasing foods. Mental stress, hormonal changes, intense physical exertion or an imbalance in the gut microbiota also increase histamine release. Damage to the intestinal mucosa, such as that caused by coeliac disease or ulcerative colitis, impairs histamine breakdown; furthermore, medication, alcohol, nicotine or a deficiency in certain micronutrients can reduce the activity of histamine-degrading enzymes.

The consequences of such an imbalance include hypersensitivity reactions such as skin redness, itching, sneezing, a runny nose or gastrointestinal problems.

OMNi-BiOTiC® ViTAL Hi-Balance has been developed on the basis of the latest scientific findings to specifically support the body’s natural breakdown and regulatory mechanisms, thereby helping to maintain a balanced histamine level. It combines specific micronutrients that are important for a normal immune system response (zinc, copper, vitamin B6, vitamin C) with a plant-based matrix of extracts and oils used to address excessive immune reactions (quercetin, black cumin and perilla seed oil). The non-histamine-producing postbiotic strain Bifidobacterium longum ES1 perfectly complements the formula. This helps you keep your histamine levels under control.

Vitamins & trace elements – the nutritional foundation for the immune system

The formula contains vitamins and trace elements that are important for the immune system and, in particular, for a balanced immune response. °Zinc, copper, vitamin B6 and vitamin C contribute to the normal functioning of the immune system. Copper, vitamin B6 and zinc are also required to support the action of the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO), which breaks down histamine in the body. Furthermore, vitamin C, zinc and copper help protect cells from oxidative stress. Magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin B6 and copper contribute to normal energy metabolism – which is important for cells with high enzyme activity.

Quercetin, black cumin oil & co – traditional plant compounds, scientifically proven

Quercetin is a phytochemical from the flavonoid group that protects plants from UV radiation and predators. Research using cell models shows that quercetin has the potential to influence histamine release. Perilla seed oil and black cumin oil are actively used to treat hypersensitivity reactions – an approach that is also confirmed by recent study findings. Nettle extract provides natural phytosterols that help stabilise the mucous membranes – including those in the gut. A stable intestinal mucosa, in turn, is an important prerequisite for a functioning immune system. Furthermore, the histamine-degrading enzyme DAO is primarily produced in the cells of the intestinal mucosa, which is why this is essential for histamine regulation. 

Bifidobacterium longum ES1 – focusing on microbial balance

The gut is our largest immune organ – around 70 per cent of all antibody-producing immune cells are located here. A balanced gut microbiome forms an important foundation for a robust immune defence. The postbiotic Bifidobacterium longum ES1 – a specially selected, non-histamine-producing bacterial strain – therefore ideally complements the formulation as a microbiome-related ingredient with a focus on bacterial balance.

Directions for use

• Take 3 powder capsules and 1 liquid capsule once daily with a meal in the morning or at lunchtime. To ensure the best possible absorption of the nutrients contained, it is recommended that the capsules be taken together.
  
• Important information: No animal protein, gluten, yeast or lactose has been added to this product, and it is suitable for people with a milk allergy. Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of young children. Store the blister packs in their original packaging to protect the contents from light. We recommend avoiding the consumption of other zinc-containing dietary supplements. This product is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. During pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding, we recommend consulting your doctor.
