Nikolaus Nature human NN Zinc Capsules are a food supplement containing the essential trace element zinc. This versatile trace element helps, for example, to maintain normal vision and support the normal functioning of the immune system.
On average, our bodies require between 7 and 16 mg of zinc per day. Although this is a very small amount, zinc is involved in over 300 biochemical processes in the body – a deficiency can therefore manifest itself in a variety of ways. Older people, pregnant women and vegetarians should therefore keep a very close eye on their daily zinc intake.

A versatile nutrient for the human body
Zinc is the second most common trace element in the human body after iron. It is essential and must therefore be consumed in sufficient quantities through the diet every day. There are no specific organs in the body that store zinc – a deficiency is therefore difficult to detect, as a zinc test only ever provides a snapshot of the current situation. A zinc deficiency often manifests as hair loss, loss of appetite, a reduced sense of taste or impaired wound healing. Whilst the human body is able to extract more zinc from food during periods of increased demand, this does not work in the long term.
Good sources of zinc include meat, offal, dairy products, eggs and fish – so ensuring an adequate zinc intake is somewhat more difficult for vegetarians and vegans. Foods such as spinach, porridge and wholemeal products do contain zinc, but they also contain high levels of phytates – a substance that binds the zinc from plant sources, which is already less easily absorbed, in the gastrointestinal tract.
NN Zinc contains zinc bound to an amino acid – this ensures optimal bioavailability and allows it to be absorbed very effectively by the body. Combined with vitamin C from acerola, NN Zinc provides targeted support for the body’s immune system. NN Zinc is suitable for a wide range of uses, from vegetarians and the elderly to people suffering from chronic diarrhoea.
