If you are an occasional smoker, Nicotinell chewing gum is ideal. In the Mintfrisch and Fruit flavours, you can gradually achieve freedom from smoking - just as you like it. Nicotinell belongs to a group of medicines designed to help youstop smoking.
Nicotinell contains nicotine, one of the components of tobacco. By chewing, the nicotine isslowly released from the chewing gum into the oral cavity andabsorbed into thebody via the oral mucosa. This medicine helps to reduce the withdrawal symptoms that occur during smoking cessation.
Patient counselling and support usually increase the success rate.

How to use
Dosage for adults over 18 years: Chew one piece of gum when craving a cigarette.Chew one piece of gum every one to two hours. Normally 8 to 12 pieces of gum a day are sufficient, but if you still have a craving for a cigarette, you can chew more Nicotinell gum.
However, do not chew more than 25 pieces of Nicotinell 2 mg per day.
The duration of treatment varies from person to person. Treatment should usually last at least3 months. After 3 months, the number of Nicotinell chewed should be gradually reduced. Treatment should be stopped when the dose has been reduced to 1-2 chewing gums per day. Use of Nicotinell beyond 6 months is generally not recommended. However, some former smokers may require a longer treatment period to prevent a relapse to smoking.
Talk to your doctor if you have been taking Nicotinell for more than 9 monthsand appropriate counselling may help you to stop smoking.
Use in children and adolescents: Nicotinell must not be used by persons under the age of 18 without a doctor's recommendation.
Ingredients
- The active ingredient is nicotine.
- Each chewing gum containing the active ingredient contains 2 mg nicotine (as 10 mg nicotine polacrilin).
- The other ingredients are Gum base (contains butylhydroxytoluene (E321)), calcium carbonate, sorbitol (E420), anhydrous sodium carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, polacrilin, glycerol (E422), purified water, levomenthol, fruit flavouring, saccharin, saccharin sodium, acesulfame potassium, xylitol (E967), mannitol (E421), gelatine, titanium dioxide (E171), carnauba wax and talc.
