Directions for use
- Adults: 1 sachet 1 to 3 times a day. The usual dose is 1 to 2 sachets per day. Depending on the individual’s response, up to 3 sachets per day may be required. The dose depends on the severity of the constipation. After a few days, the dose may be reduced to the lowest effective dose. The usual duration of treatment is 2 weeks. If symptoms persist after 2 weeks, please consult your doctor.
- Children (under 12 years of age): It is not recommended to administer Molaxole to children under 12 years of age.
- Adults: The usual dose is 8 sachets per day. The dose of 8 sachets should be taken within 6 hours and – as required – over a period of up to 3 days. Treatment for faecal impaction usually lasts no longer than 3 days. If you are taking Molaxole for faecal impaction, it may be easier to dissolve all 8 sachets at once in 1 litre of water. This solution can be stored in the fridge.
- Patients with heart disease: For the treatment of faecal impaction, the dose should be divided so that no more than 2 sachets are taken in any one hour.
- Patients with impaired kidney function: No dose adjustment is necessary for the treatment of either constipation or faecal impaction.

- What Molaxole contains – The active ingredients are: macrogol (polyethylene glycol) 3350 13.125 g,sodium chloride 350.7 mg, sodium hydrogen carbonate 178.5 mg,potassium chloride 46.6 mg.
- The other ingredients (excipients) are potassium acesulfame (E950 – sweetener) and lemon flavouring.
