Methocel® 2% eye drops multidose 3x10g, 30 G

Methocel® 2% is a sterile, highly viscous solution with hypromellose. It is used as a contact liquid for diagnostic examinations such as gonioscopy or funduscopy as well as for laser treatments on the eye to ensure clear vision.

Solution for contact lens examinations on the eye. Produced under aseptic conditions (the solution is autoclaved and filled under sterile conditions).

Properties

Methocel® is a highly viscous, colourless and transparent solution of hypromellose, which is isotonic to the tear fluid. A very pure grade of hypromellose is used for production to ensure a consistent viscosity.

Fields of application

• Contact liquid for use during examination (e.g. gonioscopy or funduscopy) or treatment of the eye (e.g. argon laser trabeculoplasty) using contact lenses.

How to use

• Before each use, the concave part of the contact lens should be thoroughly cleaned and treated with a suitable disinfectant.
• Apply 1-2 drops to the concave part of the contact glass and use it on the eye in the usual way.
• When removing the contact glass, tilt the angle of the glass to avoid a possible suction effect. The eye should then be examined for epithelial integrity using the slit lamp.
• The use of contact lenses is only recommended for trained eye specialists.
