MacuCap® AMD capsules are a food for special medical purposes (balanced diet). For dietary management of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
The composition of MacuCap AMD is tailored to the increased requirement for macular carotenoids, minerals and vitamins in patients with AMD. The macula lutea (also known as the yellow spot) of the eye contains the three carotenoids combined in this product: meso-zeaxanthin, lutein and zeaxanthin. These three carotenoids form the macular pigment there. It acts as a blue light filter and antioxidant precisely at the point on the retina with the highest concentration of rods and cones (photoreceptors).

® capsules – carotenoids + vitamin B2 + zinc and 60 MacuCap® capsules – vitamins + minerals)
Directions for use
- Take one (red-brown MacuCap® capsule containing carotenoids + vitamin B2 + zinc) and two (black-brown) MacuCap® capsules containing vitamins + minerals daily, preferably with a meal and some liquid, without chewing.
- Notes: MacuCap®AMD must be used under professional medical supervision. This product is in no way a substitute for other medical treatment. If you are taking blood-thinning medication, you should consult a doctor before taking this product.
Ingredients
- Ingredients – MacuCap® Carotenoids + Vitamin B2 + Zinc capsule (reddish-brown): Extract of marigold flowers containing lutein and zeaxanthin (with sunflower oil, safflower oil, emulsifier: sunflower lecithin, antioxidants: tocopherols); soya oil; gelatine (bovine); Humectants: glycerine, sorbitol; water; emulsifier: mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids; zinc oxide; soya lecithin; colour: iron oxide; riboflavin.
- Ingredients – MacuCap® capsule – Vitamins + Minerals (black-brown): Ascorbic acid; D-alpha-tocopherol; gelatine (bovine); vegetable oils and fats (palm, rapeseed); Humectants: glycerine, sorbitol; lecithin (sunflower); zinc oxide; copper gluconate; colouring agents: iron oxides and hydroxides.
