Louis Widmer Keratosis Cream is a skin medication for localised application to the affected areas. In this dosage, carbamide (urea) has the effect of softening and desquamating the top layer of the skin (horny layer), which is thickened by excessive deposition of horny cells. It increases the skin's ability to absorb water and has a slightly germicidal effect. By choosing a deeply penetrating water/oil emulsion as the cream base, an increased effect is achieved.
Louis Widmer Keratosis Cream is used for
- mild cases of keratinisation disorders of the skin (hyperkeratosis);
- mild forms of hereditary keratinisation disorders of the skin (ichthyosis vulgaris and congenita, fish scale disease);
- cornification disorders at the hair roots (follicular hyperkeratosis);
- dry skin (xerosis cutis, eczema craquelé).
Louis Widmer Keratosis Cream is used both as an initial treatment and to prevent the recurrence of symptoms. It can also be used for interval therapy when treatment with preparations containing vitamin A acid (e.g. Keratosis + Tretinoin Creme Widmer) is interrupted.
If you do not feel better or even worse after 4 days, consult your doctor.

If possible, tight-fitting dressings (occlusive dressings) should be used, especially on areas with a thick horny layer (e.g. hands and feet).
- To prevent the recurrence of symptoms, apply twice a week; more often if necessary.
