How does Locobase Repair restore the barrier function of dry skin?
- Immediate effect: Immediately after application to very dry, stressed or cracked skin, the immediate effect sets in: The evaporation of water in the skin is reduced by the covering effect, which immediately protects the skin.
- Medium-term effect: As they penetrate further into the horny layer, the barrier lipids are able to retain moisture for up to 24 hours.
- Long-term effect: The barrier lipids are absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin and released from there as required.
- Clinically tested - Locobase Repair thus supplies dry skin with the barrier lipids that it could only produce itself over the course of several days. Natural production is not hindered in the process. Clinical tests have shown that applying Locobase Repair once a day rebuilds the skin's barrier function in this way and protects it for up to 24 hours. In addition, skin moisture is increased by supplying the moisturising factor glycerin. Due to these properties, Locobase Repair has been recommended by dermatologists for decades not only for extremely dry skin, but also specifically for the basic treatment of atopic eczema.

Atopic eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis or neurodermatitis, is a non-infectious, chronic inflammatory skin disease. It is characterised by red, rough, dry or weeping, crusty and scaly skin or areas of skin that appear in phases.

How to use
- Apply a thin layer to dry areas of skin once a day, e.g. in the evening. Locobase Repair is highly concentrated and economical. Even small amounts are sufficient for the full repair effect.
- For larger areas of dry skin on the body, it is advisable to dab small amounts onto the skin first and then spread well.
- If your skin is exposed to particularly high levels of stress, it is better to use Locobase Repair several times a day than to apply larger quantities to dry areas of skin.
- Locobase Repair is a fragrance-free cream and contains neither preservatives nor colourants. The skin cream is therefore also well tolerated as a supportive treatment for atopic eczema. Locobase Repair is a water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion. Due to the special formulation, you may find the consistency somewhat firmer than you would expect from a cream. However, Locobase Repair is not sticky and is quickly absorbed.
- Of course, you can also use Locobase Repair in addition to your normal skin care regime.
- Tips: We particularly recommend using it in cold weather. It is best to apply Locobase Repair to the exposed areas of skin 10 minutes before you leave the house. Locobase Repair is also ideal as a lip balm and should continue to be used even after the atopic eczema has healed.
