Put your trust in Locobase® Repair for the whole family. Free from fragrances and preservatives, it supports the skin’s natural regeneration. With cholesterol and ceramides, it deeply replenishes the skin’s lipid reserves. Gentle even on a baby’s skin.
How does Locobase Repair restore the barrier function of dry skin?
- Immediate effect: The immediate effect kicks in straight after application to very dry, stressed or cracked skin: the evaporation of water from the skin is reduced by the occlusive effect, which protects the skin straight away.
- Medium-term effect: As they penetrate further into the stratum corneum, the barrier lipids are able to retain moisture for up to 24 hours.
- Long-term effect: The barrier lipids are stored in the deeper layers of the skin and released from there as and when needed.
- Clinically tested – Locobase Repair thus supplies dry skin with the barrier lipids that it would otherwise take several days to produce itself. This does not interfere with the skin’s natural production. Clinical trials have shown that applying Locobase Repair just once a day restores the skin’s barrier function in this way and protects it for up to 24 hours. In addition, skin moisture is increased by the addition of glycerine, a humectant. Thanks to these properties, Locobase Repair has been recommended by dermatologists for decades, not only for extremely dry skin but also specifically as a basic treatment for atopic eczema.

What is atopic eczema?
Atopic eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis or neurodermatitis, is a non-contagious, chronic inflammatory skin condition. It manifests as patches of red, rough, dry or weeping, crusted and scaly skin that occur in flare-ups.

Directions for use
- Apply a thin layer to the dry areas of skin once a day, e.g. in the evening. Locobase Repair is highly concentrated and goes a long way. Even small amounts are sufficient to achieve the full reparative effect.
- For larger dry patches of skin on the body, it is advisable to first dab small amounts onto the skin and then spread them in well.
- If your skin is under particular strain, it is better to use Locobase Repair several times a day rather than applying larger amounts to dry patches of skin.
- Locobase Repair is a fragrance-free cream and contains neither preservatives nor colourants. As a result, the cream is also well tolerated as a supportive treatment for atopic eczema. Locobase Repair is a water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion. Due to its special formulation, you may find the consistency slightly thicker than you would expect from a cream. Nevertheless, Locobase Repair is not sticky and is quickly absorbed.
- Of course, you can also use Locobase Repair in addition to your usual skincare routine.
- Tips:
We particularly recommend using it in cold weather. It is best to apply Locobase Repair to exposed areas of skin 10 minutes before leaving the house.
Locobase Repair is also excellent as a lip balm.
It should continue to be used even after the atopic eczema has healed.
