Lactobact INTIMA – a triple-action combination for the intimate and bladder areas
The high-quality probiotic Lactobact INTIMA helps maintain a healthy bladder lining thanks to its triple combination. The combination of cranberry, D-mannose and two microencapsulated, biologically active bacterial cultures supports the mucous membranes in the intimate and bladder areas.
- Cranberry: Contains phytochemicals (e.g. proanthocyanidins) and is successfully used in traditional herbal medicine to treat urinary tract and bladder infections.
- D-mannose: Can bind to harmful bacteria and flush them out via the urine. It is a simple sugar that is not metabolised by the body and therefore does not contribute any additional calories. It is therefore also suitable for people with diabetes.
- Lactobacillus plantarum: Has a beneficial effect on the intestinal mucosa and the immune system. It supports the microbiome and the mucous membranes. The natural production of lactic acid helps maintain the physiological pH balance in the genital area.
- Lactobacillus paracasei: Provides specific defence against, amongst others, the pathogenic bacterium Staphylococcus aureus. Has a positive effect on the intestinal mucosa and acts as an anti-inflammatory. It also supports the microbiome and the mucous membranes. The physiological pH balance in the intimate area is naturally supported by the production of lactic acid.
How does Lactobact INTIMA work?
Lactobact INTIMA contains a carefully selected combination of health-promoting ingredients. The vaginal mucosa is colonised by lactobacilli, which ensure a healthy environment and maintain the balance of the vaginal flora. This includes regulating the pH level through the secretion of lactic acid, which forms a protective barrier due to its acidic pH. If the pH level shifts into the alkaline range, unwanted microorganisms can grow more easily and the risk of infection increases. Furthermore, the protective lactobacilli produce H₂O₂ (hydrogen peroxide), which also inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria. In addition, they displace pathogens by occupying the habitats of the vaginal, bladder and intestinal mucosa. Furthermore, cranberry is used as a traditional phytotherapeutic agent for urinary tract infections. It is a complex mixture of synergistically acting substances and contains a variety of secondary plant compounds, such as polyphenol oligomers and proanthocyanidins. It also contains the sugar D-mannose. It can bind to pathogenic bacteria, such as E. coli, which are common causes of bladder infections. D-mannose is excreted unmetabolised in the urine and can thus remove the bound bacteria from the bladder.
