- Open the foil pouch just before use and remove the test stick.
- Remove the protective cap and hold the test tip in the urine for at least 5 seconds.
- For hygienic reasons, replace the protective cap on the test stick and wait 3 minutes.
What results are possible and how should I react to the different results?
- One line: If the test result is Not Pregnant and your period is overdue, please carry out a new test the next day and contact your gynaecologist.
- Two lines: If the test result is pregnant, please contact your gynaecologist straight away. He or she will advise you on the further course of the pregnancy (avoid potential risks to the embryo, such as X-rays).
- No line: If the test result is invalid, it is very likely that not enough urine was collected. Please repeat the application with a new test.
What other points should be noted when carrying out the test?
- Immersing the test stick deeper than the test tip (e.g. in a cup) can cause the test to malfunction.
- After 5 minutes, the test result can no longer be reliably analysed. A slightly positive result that only appears after 5 minutes can no longer be reliably analysed.
- The 2 lines of the Pregnant result may be of different strength and colour intensity. Due to low hCG levels, especially at the beginning of a pregnancy, the line in the test window may only be very lightly coloured or very thin.
- In addition to pregnancies, other reasons such as illnesses or spontaneous abortions can also cause detectable hCG levels in the urine.
- Urine during the menopause can also cause false positive results.
- Low hCG concentrations in the very early stages of pregnancy can indicate negative results. In this case, the test should be repeated after 48 hours at the earliest.
- Medications based on hCG and infertility treatments can lead to false results. Please consult your doctor.
- If you have taken several tests and received different results, please contact your gynaecologist.
