LEITNER Lifecare Lugol’s Solution 2% consists of an aqueous mixture of iodine and potassium iodide. Put your trust in a traditional product that stands out for its purity and consistent composition.

Lugol’s solution is an aqueous solution of elemental iodine and potassium iodide. The addition of potassium iodide significantly increases the solubility of iodine in water. This dark brown solution is one of the classic iodine-containing preparations used in pharmaceutical practice and has been employed for disinfectant purposes since the 19th century. It is also used as a laboratory reagent, for example to detect starch – a process which results in a blue-violet colour – as well as for other analytical and scientific procedures. Lugol’s solution is not suitable for consumption.

• Notes: Not intended for consumption. Keep out of reach of children. Store tightly sealed in the outer carton, protected from heat and direct sunlight. Shelf life: 6 months after opening.
