Ibuprofen Zentiva 400 mg contains ibuprofen, which belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These medicines have analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects.
Adults and adolescents (12-18 years, from 40 kg): Ibuprofen Zentiva 400 mg is intended for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain, such as:
- Headache (including migraine headaches)
- Back pain, muscle and joint pain
- toothache
- menstrual pain.
Ibuprofen Zentiva 400 mg also relieves acute pain and fever associated with a cold. Children aged 6-12 years (20 - 40 kg) can be treated with Ibuprofen Zentiva 200 mg film-coated tablets for acute pain and fever associated with a cold. Ibuprofen Zentiva 400 mg is recommended for adults and adolescents from 40 kg body weight (aged 12 years and over).

Directions for use
- Adults and adolescents from 40 kg (from 12 years of age): maximum daily dose: 1200 mg. The dose should be taken as follows: Take one film-coated tablet as a single dose or up to three times a day. Wait at least 4 to 6 hours between doses. The maximum daily dose must not exceed 3 film-coated tablets. Taking more than 400 mg at a time does not lead to better pain relief.
- Migraine headaches: Adults and adolescents from 40 kg (from 12 years of age): Maximum daily dose: 1200 mg. The dose should be taken as follows: One 400 mg film-coated tablet as needed, taken one to three times daily. Wait at least 4 to 6 hours between doses. Taking more than 400 mg at a time does not lead to better pain relief.
- Menstrual pain: Adults and adolescents from 40 kg (from 12 years of age): Maximum daily dose: 1200 mg. The dose should be taken as follows: One 400 mg film-coated tablet at the first sign of menstrual pain 1 to 3 times a day. Wait at least 4 to 6 hours between doses. Taking more than 400 mg at a time does not lead to better pain relief.
- The dose of ibuprofen in children and adolescents depends on the age and body weight of the patient. Ibuprofen Zentiva 400 mg should not be used in adolescents under 40 kg body weight or in children under 12 years of age.
- Route of administration: Swallow the film-coated tablet with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or suck the film-coated tablet to avoid stomach or throat irritation. If you have a sensitive stomach, it is advisable to take this medicine with food.
- Duration of use: The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, consult a doctor immediately if symptoms (such as fever and pain) persist or worsen. Adults: Talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after three days of fever or migraine headache or after five days of pain. Children and adolescents: In children and adolescents, if this medicine is needed for three days or if symptoms worsen, consult a doctor.
