HydroTac® foam dressing with gel coating, sterile, Ø 6 cm, 10 ST

HydroTac® is a sterile foam dressing with a reticular hydrogel layer. The absorbent foam absorbs excess exudate and keeps the wound moist. The hydrogel promotes granulation and epithelialisation.

Foam dressing with a mesh-shaped hydrogel layer on the wound side and water vapour-permeable, liquid- and germ-proof polyurethane cover film, the absorbent foam quickly absorbs excess wound exudate without drying out the wound, in relatively dry wounds, the hydrogel releases moisture and supports the formation and maintenance of a moist wound environment, which promotes granulation and epithelialisation, the wound dressing is soft and supple, has a good cushioning effect and can be removed without causing pain, also available with an adhesive edge.

The slight self-adhesive effect facilitates handling by pre-fixing to the skin; suitable products should be used for permanent fixation, such as hypoallergenic fixation plasters or bandages.

Areas of application

• For the treatment of wounds with low to moderate exudation in the granulation and epithelialisation phase, e.g. leg ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome and pressure sores, for the treatment of burns up to grade 2a and for the treatment of split skin extraction sites after adequate haemostasis.

Properties and mode of action

The structure of HydroTac allows the absorption of wound secretions and the release of moisture. This creates the necessary moist wound environment, which has a stimulating effect on wound healing. The gel on the wound side prevents it from sticking to the wound. It enables atraumatic dressing changes. As HydroTac Comfort/HydroTac Sacral/HydroTac Border Multisite have an all-round adhesive edge, no additional materials are required for dressing fixation.

Application

• Select the size of the dressing so that the wound pad overlaps the wound edges (approx. 1 - 2 cm), depending on the condition of the surrounding skin. If necessary, HydroTac/HydroTac concave can be cut to the desired size; only sterile scissors may be used for this. The surrounding skin should be dry and free of surface oils and debris before applying products with a circumferential adhesive border.
• HydroTac can remain on the wound for up to seven days.
• To change the dressing, slightly loosen HydroTac at one corner and carefully peel it off to avoid skin stripping (detachment of the top layer of skin).

Ingredients

HydroTac* is a foam dressing with a gas-permeable, liquid- and germ-proof polyurethane cover film with a hydrogel coating. The gel consists of an aqueous polyurea/polyurethane hybrid polymer containing propylene glycol.
