HydroTac® Comfort offers gentle, sterile wound care. The self-adhesive foam dressing with gel coating promotes optimal healing, ideal for sensitive skin. Discover comfort and protection for your wounds.
HydroTac* is a foam dressing with a gas-permeable, fluid- and germ-proof polyurethane cover film with a hydrogel coating. The gel consists of a hydrous polyurea/polyurethane hybrid polymer containing propylene glycol. HydroTac Comfort/HydroTac Sacral/HydroTac Border Multisite also has a self-adhesive border around the edge, which is coated with a polyacrylate adhesive.
The hydrophilic foam dressing that keeps dry wounds moist and moist wounds dry
Foam dressing with a mesh-like hydrogel layer on the wound side and water vapour-permeable, liquid- and germ-proof polyurethane cover film, the absorbent foam quickly absorbs excess wound exudate without drying out the wound, in relatively dry wounds, the hydrogel releases moisture and supports the formation and maintenance of a moist wound environment, which promotes granulation and epithelialisation, the wound dressing is soft and supple, has a good cushioning effect and can be removed without causing pain, also available with an adhesive edge.
Intended use/indications
HydroTac is suitable for the treatment of wounds in the granulation and epithelialisation phase with low to moderate secretion. HydroTac is intended for use by wound care professionals. Wound care professionals can delegate dressing changes to patients and/or family members (performed by laypersons under the guidance of professionals).
- For wound treatment of low to moderately exuding wounds in the granulation and epithelisation phase, e.g. leg ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome and decubitus ulcers, for the treatment of burns up to grade 2a and for the treatment of split skin extraction sites following adequate haemostasis
Properties and mode of action
The structure of HydroTac allows the absorption of wound secretions and the release of moisture. This creates the necessary moist wound environment, which has a stimulating effect on wound healing. The gel on the wound side prevents it from sticking to the wound. As HydroTac Comfort/HydroTac Sacral/HydroTac Border Multisite have an all-round adhesive edge, no additional materials are required for dressing fixation.
Dosage form
- Foam dressing sterile
- Size: 15 x 20 cm
- Wound dressing size: 9 x 14 cm
Application
- Select the dressing size so that the wound pad overlaps the wound edges, depending on the condition of the surrounding skin (approx. 1 - 2 cm). If necessary, HydroTac/HydroTac concave can be cut to the desired size; only sterile scissors may be used for this. The surrounding skin should be dry and free of surface oils and dirt before applying products with a surrounding adhesive edge. Products without a surrounding adhesive edge: Remove the white protective film according to the numbering (1 & 2) and place the dressing with the yellow-coated side on the wound. Please use a suitable secondary dressing for fixation.
- Products with all-round adhesive edge: Remove the white protective film according to the numbering (1 & 2), place the dressing with the yellow-coated side on the wound and press the adhesive edge down firmly. (Be careful not to exert any pressure on the wound.) Remove the cover film according to the numbering (3 & 4).
- HydroTac sacral: Peel off the white protective film numbered 1, place the dressing with the yellow-coated side on the wound and press the adhesive edge down firmly. Then peel off the side protective films numbered 2 and press the adhesive edge down. Then remove the cover film according to the numbering (3 & 4). In any case, make sure that the wound pad is in direct contact with the entire wound bed. Treatment of deep and tunnelled wounds with HydroTac is not recommended. The dressing must be changed if clinically indicated or if wound secretions are visible at the edges of the dressing.
- HydroTac can remain on the wound for up to seven days.
- To change the dressing, loosen HydroTac slightly at one corner and remove carefully to avoid skin stripping (detachment of the top layer of skin).
