The Humana SL Expert powder special food for cows' milk intolerance due to lactose intolerance, galactosaemia or cows' milk protein allergy. It is suitable for the exclusive feeding of infants from birth and for supplementary feeding after the 6th month. Humana SL can be used after 6 months for infants with cow's milk protein allergy.
Cow's milk intolerance can be caused by various diseases such as galactosaemia, lactose intolerance or allergy to cow's milk protein. Affected infants require individualised nutrition, as cow's milk-based foods cannot be used. Humana SL is a speciality formula based on soya protein isolate that is suitable for feeding infants with an intolerance to cow's milk due to various causes.

- Lactose intolerance: Lactose intolerance can be caused by a deficiency of the enzyme lactase, which is involved in the breakdown of lactose. Lactase deficiency leads to gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhoea after ingesting food containing lactose (e.g. dairy products). Replacing lactose with other carbohydrates contributes significantly to the improvement of gastrointestinal complaints and the normalisation of digestion.
- In galactosaemia: Galactosaemia is a disorder in which galactose metabolism is impaired and requires a lifelong restriction of galactose intake. As galactose is a natural component of the milk sugar lactose, dairy products should be avoided.
- In case of cow's milk protein allergy: In case of cow's milk protein allergy, foods containing intact animal milk proteins should be strictly avoided. In addition to highly hydrolysed or amino acid-based foods, a special soya-based food is a suitable alternative.

- Please only use the measuring spoon from this pack. The quantities given are only guidelines and may vary from person to person, as every baby is unique - see back of pack.
- Important information: Breastfeeding is the best nutrition for your baby. Talk to your paediatrician or midwife if you want to use infant formula. Humana SL is based on soya protein and is not suitable if you are allergic to soya protein or have a glucose metabolism disorder. Humana SL is suitable for exclusive feeding of infants from birth and for supplementary feeding after the 6th month. Humana SL can be used for infants with cow's milk protein allergy after 6 months. Please check with your doctor the individual dietary management options for cow's milk protein allergies in infants under 6 months. Humana SL should be tested for tolerability under medical supervision, as highly sensitive infants may show allergic reactions in rare cases. Only suitable for enteral feeding. Humana SL should only be used under medical supervision. Do not allow your baby to suck the bottle continuously. Like breast milk, infant formula contains carbohydrates, which can cause tooth decay if they come into frequent or prolonged contact with the teeth.
