Humana SL Expert powdered formula is a specialised formula for infants with cow’s milk intolerance due to lactose intolerance, galactosaemia or cow’s milk protein allergy. It is suitable for the exclusive feeding of infants from birth and as a complementary food from 6 months of age. For infants with a cow’s milk protein allergy, Humana SL can be used from 6 months of age.
Cow’s milk intolerance can be caused by various conditions such as galactosaemia, lactose intolerance or an allergy to cow’s milk protein. Affected infants require a personalised diet, as cow’s milk-based formulas cannot be used. Humana SL is a specialised formula, based on soya protein isolate, which is suitable for feeding infants with an intolerance to cow’s milk due to various causes.

- In the case of lactose intolerance: Lactose intolerance can be caused by a deficiency of the enzyme lactase, which is involved in the breakdown of lactose. A lactase deficiency leads to gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhoea following the consumption of foods containing lactose (e.g. dairy products). Replacing lactose with other carbohydrates plays a key role in alleviating gastrointestinal symptoms and normalising digestion.
- In galactosaemia: Galactosaemia is a disorder in which galactose metabolism is impaired, necessitating a lifelong restriction on galactose intake. As galactose is a natural component of the milk sugar lactose, dairy products should be avoided.
- In cases of cow’s milk protein allergy: In cases of cow’s milk protein allergy, foods containing intact animal milk proteins should be strictly avoided. In addition to highly hydrolysed or amino acid-based formulae, a specialised soya-based formula is a suitable alternative.

- Please use only the measuring spoon provided in this pack. The recommended feeding amounts are only guidelines and may vary from baby to baby, as every baby is unique – see the back of the pack.
- Important information: Breastfeeding is the best way to feed your baby. Talk to your paediatrician or midwife if you wish to use infant formula. Humana SL is based on soya protein and is not suitable for babies with a soya protein allergy or glucose metabolism disorders. Humana SL is suitable for the exclusive feeding of infants from birth and as a complementary food from 6 months onwards. Humana SL can be used for infants with a cow’s milk protein allergy from 6 months of age. Please consult your doctor regarding the individual options for dietary management of cow’s milk protein allergies in infants under 6 months of age. Humana SL should be tested for tolerability under medical supervision, as highly sensitive infants may, in rare cases, experience allergic reactions. Suitable for enteral feeding only. Use Humana SL only under medical supervision. Do not leave your baby with the bottle to suckle continuously. Like breast milk, infant formula contains carbohydrates which, if in frequent or prolonged contact with the teeth, can cause tooth damage due to tooth decay.
