Grassolind® ointment compresses sterile, individually sealed, 5 x 5 cm, 50 ST

Grassolind® are ointment dressings free of active ingredients made of wide-meshed, air- and secretion-permeable cotton fabric, impregnated with a neutral ointment mass which, thanks to its rich application, is not washed out even with heavy exudation, easy to cut to size.

Properties and mode of action

The wide-meshed mesh tulle allows exudate to pass unhindered into the absorbent secondary wound dressing, preventing maceration. The ointment mass keeps the wound edges supple, promotes the formation of granulation tissue and epithelialisation and prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound. The dressing can be changed painlessly without irritating granulation tissue or young epithelium that has already formed.

Intended use

Grassolind neutral is a sterile, active ingredient-free ointment dressing for single use to treat wounds and keep wound surfaces and edges supple, particularly in the case of superficial, exuding wounds (such as for large abrasions or lacerations as well as burns or scalds, in plastic and cosmetic surgery, nail extractions, phimosis operations, etc.), for covering the donor site in skin transplants and for fixing split-thickness skin grafts; also ideal in dermatology and for skin and drug-sensitive patients.

The neutral properties of the active ingredient-free ointment make Grassolind neutral particularly suitable for use in dermatology and for patients with sensitive skin and patients who are sensitive to certain drugs.

Grassolind neutral ointment dressings serve as a primary wound dressing and are used in combination with a secondary, absorbent wound dressing. Grassolind neutral is suitable for the treatment of human skin by professional users.

Application

Remove the ointment compress from the sterile peel pack; do not remove the two product protection pads. If necessary, cut the compress to the size of the wound using sterile scissors. After removing one of the product protection pads, place the corresponding side on the wound; then remove the remaining protective pad. To absorb wound exudate, it is recommended to fix a sterile, absorbent wound dressing over the ointment dressing. Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, Grassolind neutral should be replaced each time the dressing is changed. The duration of use of the dressing depends on the condition of the wound and the amount of exudate.
