- Konjac flour is obtained from the tuber of the konjac plant (Amorphophallus konjac). The cultivation and harvesting of the tubers is a complex and complicated process. Over a period of four years, the tubers are planted in the soil in spring, taken out of the ground in August and stored before being planted out again the following spring. The tubers are only finally harvested in the fourth year. Konjac flour is extracted from these tubers using a special washing process.
