Gall Pharma Copper orotate capsules is a food supplement with 310 μg copper orotate per capsule. The trace element regulates the absorption and transport of iron and contributes to the normal function of the nervous and immune systems.
Copper orotate GPH capsules contain 310 μg copper in the form of easily utilisable and absorbable copper orotate in a hard gelatine capsule. Despite an adequate food supply, there may be an insufficient supply of copper. The reasons for this lie in the industrial processing of food and the heavy metal contamination of our soils. In addition, low-milk diets, alcohol, foods containing zinc and iron, certain medicines (e.g. glucocorticoids, antacids) and illnesses (e.g. stomach, intestinal and liver diseases, kidney dysfunction) can increase the need for copper or lead to a copper deficiency. This can manifest itself in anaemia, increased susceptibility to infections, tooth decay, osteoporosis, poor concentration and impaired skin and hair pigmentation. An increase in certain blood lipids (cholesterol and LDL) is also possible.
- As an essential trace element, copper is a component of metalloproteins and enzyme systems. This element plays an important role in the absorption and utilisation of iron. The enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD), which contains copper, is an antioxidant component of our defence cells. Copper is used to generate energy (adenosine triphosphate = ATP) and the body's own synthesis of the skin pigment melanin and the messenger substances dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline. As copper controls the cross-linking of collagen fibres in connective tissue, it is essential for the construction of teeth, bone, skin, lung and vascular tissue. Furthermore, this trace element is part of pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory enzymes. Foods rich in copper include millet, cucumbers, offal, nuts, pulses and fish. The German Nutrition Society recommends a daily copper intake of 1-1.5 mg for adults.
