Bitter plants such as gentian, centaury and bitter orange are known for their positive and strongly bitter properties. The ingredients of the plants can have a regulating influence on appetite and digestion. On the one hand, the bitter flavour stimulates the appetite, while on the other, the bitter substances ensure that we only eat when we are really hungry. They also make us feel full more quickly and reduce our appetite for sweets. In general, bitter substances optimise digestion and activate the mucous membranes of the digestive tract. They also create ideal conditions for healthy intestinal flora. This mobilises the body's defences and strengthens the immune system. Yarrow herb and angelica root complement the bitter effect, as they also help to stimulate the digestive juices and support gastrointestinal function.
