Zinc is an essential trace element. Higher concentrations of zinc are found in red blood cells, the eyes, skin and hair, as well as in the prostate and liver. As a component of many different enzymes involved in protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism, zinc performs countless functions in the body. In Gall Pharma Zinc Chelate 10 mg capsules, the trace element is present in the form of a chelate. This allows it to pass through the stomach into the gut unharmed, where it is absorbed into the bloodstream via specialised transport systems in the small intestine wall. This increases the amount of zinc absorbed and improves tolerability.
