Valine 500 mg GPH capsules contain 500 mg L-valine in a hard gelatine capsule. L-valine is an essential amino acid. The body cannot produce this amino acid itself and must be supplied to the organism with food. A permanent deficiency or lack of essential amino acids can impair the metabolism. Sometimes the body's energy reserves are not quite sufficient during heavy physical exertion. L-valine can then be used as an additional source of energy for the muscle tissue. Like the other BCAAs, L-valine is anti-catabolic and anabolic.

- Like L-isoleucine and L-leucine, L-valine is a branched-chain amino acid. They are often referred to as BCAA = Branched Chain Amino Acid.
