Gall Pharma Tryptophan Capsules is a food supplement containing 250 mg L-tryptophan per capsule. The amino acid L-tryptophan regulates the sleep-wake rhythm, has a positive effect on mood and accelerates blood clotting.
Together with L-phenylalanine and L-tyrosine, L-tryptophan belongs to the group of aromatic amino acids and is essential. Among the essential amino acids, L-tryptophan is the amino acid that is found in the smallest quantities in ordinary food. Ham, beef steak, eggs, parmesan cheese, almonds and game contain larger amounts. Plant-based foods tend to be low in L-tryptophan. This amino acid also has a direct influence on the formation of the neurotransmitter serotonin and niacin (vitamin B3).
Serotonin is responsible for inner peace, balance and feelings of happiness. This hormone is therefore a stress regulator. A deficiency of L-tryptophan can lead to the development of depression and mental disorders. L-tryptophan is also the key substance for the production of melatonin, which has a calming effect on brain activity and can make it easier to fall asleep and relax.
Other amino acids compete with L-tryptophan for transport routes through the blood-brain barrier. It is therefore advisable to take L-tryptophan in isolation from other proteins.

- Adults: Take 1 capsule twice daily with liquid.
- Notes: If taking antidepressants, consult your doctor or therapist before use. Not suitable for pregnant women, nursing mothers, children and adolescents. After taking the product, the ability to participate in road traffic may be impaired.
