Gall Pharma Shiitake capsules are a food supplement with 400 mg shiitake mushroom extract per capsule. To strengthen the body's defences, rich in many vitamins and minerals and contributes to a normal cholesterol level.

Shiitake 400 mg GPH capsules contain 400 mg shiitake mushroom extract standardised to 30% polysaccharides in a cellulose capsule. Vital mushrooms such as the shiitake mushroom have great potential for scavenging free radicals and can curb arteriosclerotic processes in the body. This property makes them particularly important for occupational groups with a high stress factor. Shiitake mushrooms also have favourable effects on people with a weakened immune system due to their immunomodulating properties. Thanks to its large number of vitamins and minerals, the shiitake mushroom can also contribute to the nutrient supply of the organism. Shiitake 400 mg GPH capsules are therefore also suitable for supporting a cholesterol-conscious diet and a low-sodium diet.

  • The shiitake mushroom (= Lentinula edodes), also known as shiang gugu, hua gu or qua gu, originally comes from East Asia (China, Japan, Vietnam). It has a 5 to 10 cm wide, light brown to dark brown, dry cap. The fungus grows in deciduous forests on dead trunks, preferably of oak, beech, alder and chestnut species. In Asia, especially in Japan, the shiitake has been valued for centuries not only as an edible mushroom but also as a vitalising and medicinal mushroom due to its valuable ingredients. The mushroom does not grow wild in Europe and North America. As a result of its increasing popularity worldwide, however, it is being cultivated to an increasing extent. This makes the shiitake the second most cultivated mushroom after the button mushroom. In addition to numerous minerals and vitamins, the fruiting body of the mushroom contains a large number of organic compounds that have been proven to have a positive effect on human health. It is characterised above all by its stimulation of the body's own immune defences and its effects against viral, fungal and bacterial infections. The immunomodulating properties are primarily attributed to the fungal polysaccharide lentinan, an unbranched β-(1-3)-glucan. Isolated lentinan is used in Japan in combination with chemotherapeutic agents for adjuvant tumour therapy. Eritadenine, another important ingredient of the shiitake mushroom, is said to lower high cholesterol levels and subsequently prevent the development of arteriosclerotic diseases. According to many years of experience in traditional Chinese medicine, shiitake mushrooms are also used to treat colds, flu, bronchitis, headaches, diabetes and inflammation.
