Gall Pharma Q-10 120 mg capsules are a food supplement containing 120 mg coenzyme Q10 per capsule. Coenzyme Q-10 is a vitamin-like substance that is responsible for the production of the body's own energy and protection against external influences.
Coenzyme Q-10 (= ubiquinone) is an important component for all energy processes and is required in every single one of our approximately 80 trillion cells in the body. In the mitochondria, the power stations of our cells, energy is produced in the form of ATP. However, this only happens adequately if the mitochondria have sufficient quantities of coenzyme Q-10. Higher concentrations are required above all in high-performance organs such as the heart, brain and muscles, as there is an increased need for material energy (ATP). Interestingly, the mitochondrial density of muscles is much higher in athletes than in inactive people. Higher quantities of coenzyme Q-10 are therefore also required to maintain the performance of these muscles. Unfortunately, the body's ability to produce coenzyme Q-10 decreases with increasing age.
The body's own production of ubiquinone also suffers from long-term stress and in people taking lipid-lowering drugs. Although it is possible to cover the requirement through food intake, unfortunately higher concentrations of ubiquinone are found in foods that are rarely consumed nowadays, such as offal (heart, liver, kidney and brain). Supplementation with coenzyme Q-10 has therefore proven to be effective in maintaining the body's own energy production processes. Q-10 60 mg GPH capsules contain 100% pure Q-10 produced by fermentation by Kaneka, which has the highest bioavailability in the world.
