Gall Pharma Phenylalanine Capsules are a dietary supplement containing 500 mg of L-phenylalanine per capsule. In the liver, this is converted into the amino acid tyrosine, which plays an important role in growth, performance and blood pressure.
L-phenylalanine is an essential amino acid and, together with L-tyrosine (non-essential), belongs to the group of aromatic amino acids. L-tyrosine can be produced from L-phenylalanine in the liver.
In the body, L-tyrosine is used in various ways to produce important endogenous substances. On the one hand, L-tyrosine serves as a precursor to numerous neurotransmitters such as dopamine, adrenaline and noradrenaline; on the other hand, this amino acid is the building block for thyroid hormones and melanin, the brown pigment in the skin. Properties such as improved learning ability, memory, concentration and the alleviation of lethargy and fatigue are also attributed to this amino acid. It prolongs and enhances the activity of the ‘happiness hormones’ (endorphins), which contribute significantly to a person’s mood.
